As I mentioned previously; I did a project for school while in NYC. The project was about identifying 5 major fashion trends while taking pictures of people on the street. I ended up doing: 1. Asymmetrical dresses 2. Striped maxi dresses 3. Spike bracelets 4. Buckled messenger bags 5. Colored denim shorts. It was extremely hard because it was so hot in NYC that you could see that people didn't care about being fashionable, they just wanted to be comfortable in the heat. I'm so thankful that Ashley was helping me to ask people for pictures, I get a little shy. The picture above was the first one I took, I absolutely felt in love with those dresses, those girls look SO cool! I really hope you enjoy this shots, they were some of my favorites! I want to try to do the same thing in Miami since it's so much fun to see what people in a certain city wear! XOXO

Como les mencioné hace unos días; aproveché al estar en Nueva York para hacer un proyecto de la universidad. Este consistía en tomarle fotos a la gente en la calle e identificar las 5 tendencias más usadas; al final terminé haciendo 1. Vestidos asimétricos 2. Vestidos largos de rayas 3. Pulseras de pullitas 4. Carteras de mensajero con hebilla 5. Shorts de colores . Pero mis looks favoritos no fueron exactamente los más comúnes y quiero compartirlos con ustedes. Le doy las gracias a Ashley porque ella me ayudó a preguntarle a la gente e hizo todo más fácil. Les admito que no fue fácil, hacía mucho calor en Nueva York y la gente estaba no estaba con el modo fashion prendido. La primera foto que tomé fue la de estas 3 amigas con vestidos largos muy llamativos... estaban espectaculares! Les dejo varias fotos debajo y espero que disfruten estas combinaciones y las inspiren de alguna manera u otra. Quiero intentar hacer lo mismo en Miami ya que me divertí muchísimo documentando que usa la gente en cierta ciudad. Un abrazo!

I feel like this week was "maxi week"- I start melting just by thinking about wearing any type of jeans or something tight. I absolutely love this Jolie Moi dress- the print is really different and it has two slits on the front (I think it's not supposed to be a maxi, as seen on the model, but I'm so short that it works as a maxi dress for me). I brought out the red of the dress by adding a cross body bag of that color. Finally, I added simple gold/brown accessories. I also wanted to tell you the story behind my little necklace (Gabo jokes around and he says it's a baby or a monkey). I got it via Chictopia rewards where you can redeem the points you get from comments/likes for clothes/accessories. It's actually a "Jizo", the buddhist protector of women, children, and travelers- and he promised Buddha he would remain on earth until everyone was finished suffering. I thought it was super cute and I really liked the meaning behidn it. About my day: I just went out to have sushi with Gabo and then we went to the mall because he was looking for a pair of shoes for his new job. Have an amazing day!!!

Esta semana me la he pasado en vestido largos- empiezo a sudar solo al pensar en usar jeans o algo ajustado. Este vestido de Jolie Moi es perfecto para esta temporada y me gustó mucho que nunca había visto un estampado así (aunque creo que originalmente no es un maxi como tal, soy tan chiquita que a mi me queda relativamente largo). Aprovechando el tono terracota del vestido, quise agregar una cartera de un color similar y accesorios marrones/dorados. También les quería contar del collarcito (Gabo me echa broma y dice que parece un bebe o un monito); lo "compré" por Chictopia en donde puedes redimir los puntos de ganas al recibir comentarios en tus looks por ropa/accessorios. Me gustó mucho el cuento detrás del collar; se llama Jizo y es el protector Budista de las mujeres, niños y los viajeros- según la leyenda, le dijo a Buda que se quedaría en la Tierra hasta que no hubiera más sufrimiento. Sobre mi día: fui a comer con mi novio y después pasamos por el centro comercial porque el necesitaba unos zapatos para su nuevo trabajo. ¡¡FELIZ DIA!!

Como todos los miércoles, aquí les traigo otro REMIX- esta vez con unos shorts anaranjados de Zara. Los compré el año pasado en rebajas y siento que les he sacado bastante provecho. My day started doing a midterm project for Fashion School- it was about streetstyle trends and I had to take pictures and group the trends together. Gladly, I was in New York and it was probably a lot easier there (special thanks to Ashley because she helped me SO much- we literally were walking like crazy around the city and asking people if we could take their picture). It was so much fun that I'm even thinking in doing a section in streetstyle, I'll share the pictures and you tell me if you like the idea. I wore this to the BlogHer conference, and changed to flats while walking around the city...and back to heels to eat with the girls at a Mexican restaurant. Saturday was an extremely hot day, I wanted to wear jeans but it was impossible. So I went for my favorite maxi skirt and added a crochet top (it actually has some fringes but it looks more polished tucked in). I hope you liked this look! XOXO

Mi día empezó haciendo un trabajo para la universidad- era tomarle fotos a las tendencias que veíamos en la calle, así que fue perfecto que estuviera en Nueva York. Ashley me ayudó y estuvimos molestando a la gente en todos lados. Tomé fotos lindísimas de gente en la calle, el jueves les muestro las fotos y ustedes me dices si quieren convertirlo en una sección en el blog. También fui a la conferencia de BlogHer y estuve compartiendo con Ashley, Amanda y Camilla. Después en la noche fuimos a comer en un restaurante mexicano y la pasamos genial. El sábado fue otro día extremadamente caliente en calor- tenía pensado ponerme unos jeans pero me hubiera derretido. Así que opté por mi maxi falda favorita y un top de crochet extremadamente fresco (originalmente tiene unos flecos que escondí con la falda pero ya veran que se pueden ver totalmente distinto); unas plataformas para la conferencia/cena y luego unos flats foraditos para caminar por Nueva York. After walking around in NYC, we got ready for Naughty Monkey's fall preview event. I'm going to start telling you a little more about my outfit: since it was a fall preview, we got inspired by different fall trends. One of the trends that caught my eye was "White out" - wearing white from head-to-toe; however, I decided to add a pop of color with the shoes (and they are the perfect dark red for fall). I had so much fun at the event- I was one of the hostess along Ashley, Camila, Flor & Amanda. I swear that I had a blast meeting some of my readers... you girls ROCK! Después de pasear un rato por NYC, fuimos a arreglarnos para el evento de Naughty Monkey. Empiezo contándoles de mi outfit: ya que era un adelanto al público de los nuevos zapatos para otoño, tuvimos que ver tendencias para la próxima temporada. Una de las grandes tendencias es "White Out" ( o toda de blanco), así que quise incorporar esta tendencia en mi outfit del evento pero darle un SUPER pop de color en los zapatos (que también son del color del otoño 2012: rojo vino). El evento estuvo cheverísimo, yo era una de las anfitrionas junto a Ashley, Camila, Flor y Amanda. Les juro que la mejor parte fue compartir con las lectoras que fueron a conocernos... ¡son las mejores! Aquí las dejo con más fotitos! Un abrazo grandísimo!

I'm sorry I was MIA for the past couple of days- I was in New York for a Naughty Monkey  and I had limited internet access. I got in the City on Thursday night and I stayed at Flor's place- thank you Flor for your hospitality! I wore this on Friday to walk around the city with Ashley and Flor- and then we ate at the Meatpacking district. Also, we were invited to the Bollare showroom to pick up a couple of things, and we had so much fun trying everything on. After that we headed back to change for the event...but more pictures on that tomorrow! About my outfit: it was so hot in New York that I just wanted to wear light and long dresses. As soon I saw this dress in Flor's closet, I couldn't wait to wear it...the color and fit is gorgeous, I can't believe it's from Old Navy. I hope you liked this look! XOXO

Estuve unos días desaparecida del blog porque estuve en Nueva York para un evento de Naughty Monkey y tenía poco acceso a internet. Llegué el jueves en la noche y me estuve quedando en casa de Flor- Flor, gracias por tu hospitalidad! Esto fue lo que utilicé el viernes para pasar el día con Ashley y Flor; quisimos aprovechar el día paseando por Nueva York  y luego fuimos a comer en el Meatpacking. También pasamos por Bollare y escogimos cosas lindísimas que ya verán en el blog, incluyendo el collar que llevo puesto en estas fotos. Finalmente regresé a casa de Flor para cambiarnos y seguir al evento... mañana pongo fotitos del evento! Sobre mi outfit: está haciendo tanto en NYC que estuve usando todos los días vestidos largos y ligeros. Apenas vi este vestido en el closet de Flor tuve que pedirselo prestado por el día... el color es hermosísimo- todavía no puedo creer que sea de Old Navy. ¡Espero que les hayan gustado las fotos! ¡Abrazos grandísimos a todas!

I feel like I've done this combo a thousando of times; but I really love how classic "white, black and red" is. This time I wanted to pair a polka dotted top (big big dots) with simple black skirt and I added pops of red in the belt, bag, and lipstick. I wanted to be comfortable so I forgot about wearing heels and  wore my favorite black loafers. I wore this to go to my Wednesday class (minus the red lipstick) and then I went to the movies with my boyfriend to watch "Step up: Revolution". I really liked the movie- I was a dancer for many years so I'm up for anything with cool choreographies. As you can see, I've been wearing my hair up in a bun for the past week- it's impossible to control it with the humidity in Miami! I hope you liked this combo! XOXO

Siento que he hecho esta combinación de "blanco, negro y rojo" muchísimo- pero es de mis favoritas, me parece extremadamente clásica. En esta ocasión quise combinar una camisita de lunares grandotes con una falda negra sencilla y toques rojos en el cinturón, cartera y pintura de labios. Como quería estar cómoda y la ocasión no ameritaba tacones, opté por mis mocasines negros. Esto fue lo que utilicé para ir a clases el miércoles (sin la pintura de labios) y luego fui al cine con mi novio a ver "Step Up: Revolution"- y ahí si agregué la pintura de labios como para sentirme un poquito más arregladita. A mi me gustó bastante la película; aparte que la grabaron en Miami, todos los bailes estan buenísimos. He estado usando un moño alto de peinado toda la semana porque mi cabello está incontrolable en la humedad de esta ciudad. Espero que les haya gustado esta combinación, un abrazo inmenso!

I absolutely love this top from Beginning Boutique- not only because of its vibrant color, it also has a cute detail on the collar when buttoned up.
