Today was one of those days of getting to know the city you live in. Sometimes we don't even know the history behind where we live. It's called the "coral castle"- it was made by a man named Ed to honor the love of his life (who left him before the wedding). A lot of people do not understand how he build this thing by himself- consider that most of the coral pieces weight more than a ton. Everything is made of coral- including the furniture and decorations. There's even a perfectly heart-shaped table with a flower centerpiece- he wanted fresh flowers every day! It's definitely a place everyone in Miami should visit!

Hoy fue un día de lo que llamo "turismo intermo".  Creo que a veces vivimos en una ciudad y nisiquiera conocemos los lugares típicos que la gente visita. Les cuento un poquito del sitio al que fui hoy: es un "castillo hecho de coral". Lo hizo un hombre llamado Ed y le tomó 20 años (de 1920 a 1940). Después de que su novia lo rechazó por ser mayor que ella, se mudo a los Estados Unidos y le hizo este castillo en su honor- mucha gente no entiende como pudo mover estos corales que pesan toneladas y toneladas, y todo lo hizo solo. Todo está hecho de coral,  hasta las camas y la decoración. Hay una mesa en forma de corazón perfecto y otra en forma de Florida. De verdad que es un sitio que hay que visitar.

I've been looking for a stripe shirt like this one for a while- when I found it... it was a dress. Who cares? "I'll tuck in and make it look like I shirt" I said- and it works. You must be thinking what I did with all the extra fabric, I have no idea but it's there!! It's not the first time I do this trick, I actually love how a dress can become a skirt if you put a shirt over it, or a top if you put a skirt/short over it. Usually, I would have worn brown shoes and accessories- but I decided to change it up with some leopard heels!

Llevo bastante tiempo buscando una camisa de rayas con esta- pero cuando encontré las rayas como las que querían... era un vestido. Yo con mis loqueras, decidí convertirla en una camisa al meter el vestido dentro del short. Seguro pensaran que que habré hecho con toda la tela, no tengo idea pero está allá adentro. No es la primera vez que hago esto, al contrario es una de los métodos que considero buenísimo para hacer nuestro armario más versátil. No quise combinar el outfit con unos zapatos marrones; al contrario, me decidí por unos de leopardo para mezclar estampados.

I love the color-block trend, I feel like everyone is wearing it (at least you can see it on every street-style blog). I think it's not easy to wear bright colors, reason why you need to start low key and work your way up. The first time I wore these red jeans, I paired them with blue heels (color blocking-level 1)- that's why I called this post "level 2", I'm just wearing two colors but I think they are very bright. To balance out the outfit, I accessorized with neutral colors. I had lunch with my bf at a sushi place before he went to class- now, I'm waiting for one of my bffs to stop by my house and watch a movie.  Also, I wanted to thank everyone for the sweetest comments and following! You are the best!

Me encanta la tendencia de bloques de color, y de verdad que está en TODOS lados. Pero considero que no es fácil de llevar- razón por la que creo que debemos empezar con poco y seguir aumentando. La primera vez que usé estos pantalones rojos con más color fue con unos zapatos azules (Color blocking: nivel 1)- este lo considero mi segundo nivel ya que solo hay dos colores pero las piezas son bastante grandes y los colores bastante fuertes. Para equilibrar el resto del outfit, lo combiné con colores neutrales. Fui a comer con mi novio antes de que él fuera a clases y a dar una vuelta. Ahorita estoy esperando a una de mis mejores amigas para ver una película! También quería aprovechar para agradecerles a todos por sus comentarios y por seguirme! Son los mejores!

I get a lot of questions on how do I stand wearing heels every single day; and I always answer that I don't- I love wearing flats and sandals too. For example, if I have worn this outfit with heels it would have looked too dressy for a casual sunday. I jut wanted to look comfortable but feminine in my nude dress. We went out to have lunch at this amazing italian restaurant- we ate like crazy. I added the same gold clutch I was wearing the night before- even though it can look a little elegant for the ocassion- I think that if you pair it with neutral colors- you can wear it during the day. I added a pop of color with this amazing bib necklace- that came with matching earrings.

Siempre me preguntan que como hago para estar en tacones todos los días, y siempre les respondo que aunque parezca: también utilizo sandalias y flats. También considero que si hubiera usado este vestido con zapatos altos se hubiera visto muy de fiesta para un domingo. Y lo que quería era estar cómoda para ir a comer y hacer diligencias. Fuimos a comer a un sitio italiano, comí hasta más no poder porque de verdad estaba exquisito. Sobre el outfit, quería mantenerme en los colores nude pero quise darle un toque de color con el collar y los zarcillos/aretes. Quise agregarle la cartera dorada que utilicé la noche anterior, que aunque es un poco de fiesta, pienso que con un outfit relajado y neutral puedes utilizarla de día.

I love that at this time of the year, the sun goes down at 8:30pm. It was super late when we took these pictures!  Remember that I told you on yesterday's post that I went to a get together at a friend's place? - like I needed a reason to dress up! There were jello-shots and lots of food! About my outfit: I feel like I'm obsessed with vintage clothing, I love the idea of having something unique and "renewed" (I'm sure that this dress used to be extremely long a couple of decades ago). I bought it on "Vintage Mavens", an ebay store that sells vintage pieces. I specially love the color, and the detail on the neckline!


En Miami está atardeciendo tardísimo, ¿se acuerdan que ayer les dije que iba a una reunión en la noche? Todavía había sol a las 8:00- yo feliz porque las fotos salen mucho mejor. La reunión fue en casa de una amiga, había muchísima comida- pinchos y parrila- y mucho alcohol. Les cuento un poco de mi outfit: últimamente ando obsesionada con la idea de algo vintage. Me encanta tener algo que no voy a ver en ningún lado, y que se está reciclando de una manera u otra. Este vestido lo compré en "Vintage Mavens", una muchacha de Miami que tiene su tienda por internet y todo lo que tiene es vintage modificado (por ejemplo, este vestido lo tuvieron que haber cortado bastante para que se viera moderno).  Me encanta el color, y dependiendo con que lo combines puedes usarlo de día o de noche.

I've wanted a denim vest since last year; but I couldn't find one that I liked 100% (or that it was on my budget!). Today, I wanted to mix rocker and feminine elements- like studs and florals! After writing a couple of posts for my blog, I had lunch with my bf and we try to get tickets for a play called "In the Heights"- but it was sold out :(.  Plan B: watch a movie!! While we were on our way to the movie theater, my bf remembered that we got invited to a small get together at a friend's place. I came back to the house and changed clothes.
