Every day should be Valentine’s Day. Every day should be a Soirée.
When Gabe and I started dating, we promised each other day would be Valentine’s Day. We promised that we didn’t need a specific day to buy flowers or chocolates, and that if we felt like dressing up and heading to a fancy restaurant, we just would. And most importantly: if we wanted to stay in during February 14th and hang out in our PJS, that was totally okay too.
We should celebrate LOVE every day. Just like that, I’m also inspired by the new Juicy Couture perfume “Viva La Juicy Soirée” to make every day a Soirée. We work hard, we deserve to indulge and have fun! It doesn’t matter if it’s pampering yourself with a relaxing bath, planning a Galentine’s Day with your besties, or heading to a surprise location with your significant other.
I absolutely love perfumes, how every scent reminds me of a different time in my life, and how it is that final (and invisible) accessory that complements any outfit.
I recently just finished another bottle of the timeless Viva La Juicy (one of my all time favorites!). Reason why I was so excited to try the new addition to the Viva la Juicy portfolio: Viva la Juicy Soirée…and I have to say: did I find another fave!? It’s fresh because of jeweled fruits like pink kiwi and sparkling mandarin, and feminine because of the jasmine and water lily. It really takes you to a fantastical escape from reality! PLUS, the gorgeous colors of the bottle make it the perfect addition to your vanity.
Now I know that Viva La Juicy Soirée will always remind me to the last few months as US three (Chiki always counts) and that beautiful excitement of what’s to come.
Today, we are partnering with Viktor & Rolf and their addicting fragrances “Flowerbomb” and “Spicebomb” for a fun his and hers photoshoot in perfect time for Valentine’s Day.
We all have heard about Saint Valentine and how he performed weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry Christians. However, it wasn’t until the 18th-century, in England, that it evolved to a day where lovers showed their love by presenting flowers and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines”).
For me, Valentine’s Day is a reminder that every day should be V-day. Every day is the perfect day to show your significant other how you feel about them…remind them, even in the simplest way, that “I’m addicted to you”.
After a couple of months of a great friendship, Gabe and I started dating. He instantly became so attentive and sweet- he loves treating me like a princess. Back in January 2007 I told him: “don’t spoil me so much”. He completely ignored my advice and continued to spoiled me every single day for the past 9 years. It still feels like that first time he kissed me.
How can I even explain this “addiction”? The way he makes me feel, how attentive and sweet he is, how we can escape from reality when we are together, his smell, etc. I’ve talked before about how much a smell can remind us of a time, place, and feelings. Flowerbomb and Spicebomb were made for each other (like us? corny alert!). Spicebomb is the perfect fragrance for him…a mix of spices- chile and saffron- and masculine touches of leather, tobacco and vetiver.strong. On the other hand, Flowebomb feels like an explosive bouquet of floral notes!
But more importantly, I love feeling that we are our better selves when we are together…I truly believe that it’s not only the way person makes you feel but also how you bring out the better version of each other.

Hoy nos unimos a Viktor & Rolf para una colaboración muy chevere junto a sus perfumes "Flowerbom y "Spicebomb". Quisimos hacer una sesión de fotos super divertida, con la fotógrafa que nos tomó las fotos en nuestra boda, perfecta para el DÃa de San ValentÃn.
Seguro han oÃdo la historia de San ValentÃn y como casaba a soldados a escondidas. Pero no fue hasta el siglo 18, en Inglaterra, que esta fecha se convirtió en un dÃa donde los enamorados se mandaban flores y tarjetas a las que llamaban"valentines".
Para mi, el dÃa de San ValentÃn es más que regalar flores o chocolates...es un dÃa para recordarnos que todos los dÃas deben ser el DÃa del Amor y de la Amistad. Es el dÃa perfecto para recordarles a nuestros seres queridos que los amamos.. y a nuestras parejas que "son nuestra mayor adición".
Ya les he contado un poco de nuestra historia, de Gaby y yo. Empezamos a salir después de un par de meses de ser muy amigos. Apenas nos hicimos novios, Gaby se convirtió en este ser TAN atento y dulce- no importa el pasar de los años, me trata como una princesa. En enero del 2007 le dije "no me malcrÃes tanto". El ignoró mi consejo y ha seguido"malcriándome" (léase "consintiéndome) todos los dÃas de los últimos 9 años.
¿Cómo explicar esta "adicción"? Son las cosas más simples, como me hace sentir, lo cariñoso que es, como somos "solo el y yo" cuando estamos juntos, su olor. Yo siempre les digo como una fragancia puede transportarte a un momento y recordarte de lugares y situaciones especÃficas. Las fragancias Flowerbomb y Spicebomb fueron hechas una para la otra (¿como nosotros? ¡que cursi! jaja). Spicebomb es la fragancia perfecta para el- con toques masculinos de cuero y tabaco pero con una mezcla exótica de especias. Mientras que Flowebomb es una explosión de aromas florales.
Lo más importante es que me encanta que somos las mejores versiones de nosotros mismos cuando estamos juntos. Realmente creo que no es solo como la otra persona te hace sentir si no también quienes son cuando están juntos <3

I can’t believe this is our 8th Valentine’s Day together!
Gabe and I started dating on December 2006; at the time I had just moved to Miami to go to college and I had a long-distance boyfriend…Gabe? Well Gabe was just having fun and falling in love with a different girl every other week. On my first semester in college, all my friends were living at the dorms…so I was basically living at the dorms too. We became best friends rather quickly and we were having the best time together….I don’t know when on how, that friendship became a crush. We would stay up talking on MSN (yes, people still talked on MSN …feels like centuries ago) and I would say good-bye and log out just to see if he would log out too (which meant he was only online to talk with me…which of course he did). Then I realized those butterflies for Gabe definitely meant my long-distance thing was not working out (I would have been fooling myself if I hadn't broken up with him). I didn’t even mention anything to Gabe because I didn’t want to look like “hey I’m single now…” but he told me how he felt about me as soon as he found out I broke with my then-boyfriend.
Meeting him felt like "destiny", we are from different countries…we both almost didn't move to Miami and almost didn't study at that university. The odds were minimum…but when you meet the right person, you know it.

A couple of months later; on our first Valentine’s Day together, we promise each other to forget about the Vday clichés. If he wanted to bring me flowers on a random Tuesday, he should. If we felt like dressing up and head to a fancy restaurant in the middle on July…totally okay! And most importantly: if we wanted to stay in during February 14th and just hang out in our PJs, it worked too!
We should celebrate LOVE all day every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s pampering yourself with a simple mani, hanging out with your girlfriends, or going to a surprise location with your significant other! Inspired by the new Chloe fragrance, Love Story, Gabe and I headed for a fancy walk at the park with Chiki. He surprised me with flowers and cupcakes. I absolutely love perfumes and how each scent reminds me of a time in my life. Love Story is inspired by romance; even the padlock bottle design was inspired by the Pont des Arts, the famous love bridge in Paris. Love Story will now remind me forever to my first months as a newlywed and how the butterflies I felt in 2006 are still here and are not going anywhere.

¡No puedo creer que este es el octavo DÃa de Los Enamorados que Gabo y yo pasamos juntos!
Gabo y yo empezamos a salir en diciembre del 2006; ese año me mude a Miami para ir a la universidad y tenÃa un novio venezolano a distancia…Gabo? Gabo andaba de enamoradizo con una chica diferente cada semana. Ese primer semestre, todos mis amigos vivÃan en los dormitorios de la universidad- asà que se podrán imaginar, yo también me la pasaba ahÃ. En poco tiempo nos convertimos en mejores amigos…y no se ni en que momento ni como pero de la nada me empezó a gustar. Nos quedábamos hablando hasta la madrugada por MSN (si, con eso se me cae la cédula…antes de Snapchat y todas estas cosas, uno hablaba por MSN). Yo me desconectaba para ver si el se desconectaba - lo que significaba que el estaba conectado solo para hablar conmigo! Obviamente me di cuenta que estas maripositas significaban que mi relación de lejos no estaba funcionando… y terminamos (por que hubiese estado engañándome a mi misma en una relación que no funcionaba). Yo ni quise decirle nada a Gabo para no sonar toda "holaaaa terminé con mi novio"…pero apenas Gabo se enteró, se me declaro y me dijo como se sentÃa.
Para mi concer a Gabo fue como "Serendipity". Ninguno originalmente iba a vivir en Miami…o estudiar en la universidad que nos conocimos. Fue mucha casualidad como nos conocimos y siento cuando uno conoce "al que es" , tu corazoncito lo sabe! <3

Un par de meses después fue nuestro primer DÃa de los Enamorados juntos; ese dÃa prometimos que San ValentÃn era todos los dÃas….que si a el le provoca comprarme flores un martes, que lo haga…si nos querÃamos arreglar e ir a un restaurante lindo en pleno julio, también. Pero lo más importante es que si un 14 de febrero no queremos hacer nada…no importa!
Siempre he dicho que debemos celebrar EL AMOR todos los dÃas del año. No importa si es consintiéndote a ti misma con un manicura, saliendo con tus amigas solteras, o yendo a un restaurante elegante con tu novio/esposo. Para este post nos inspiramos en el nuevo perfume de Chloe, Love Story, Gabo y yo nos vestimos y nos fuimos a pasear al parque con Chiki. Gabo me trajo flores y ponquecitos de sorpresa. Yo les he contado lo mucho que me gustan los perfumes y como cada fragancia me recuerda a un momento de mi vida. La inspiración de Love Story es el romance- hasta el diseño de la botella fue basado en el famoso puente del amor de ParÃs. Love Story ahora me va a recordar a mis primeros meses como recién casada y como esas maripositas que sentà en el 2006 siguen ahà <3

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching!
I got a couple of requests of looks for this romantic day…but it really depends on your plans (leave a comment below on your plans and I can do a couple of looks for that!). I actually wore this for a dinner with Gabe and his little sister but I feel like it's a cute look for a casual Valentine's Day at the movie theater.
I'm wearing the comfiest jeans I own (plus they are super flattering and they don't stretch); the sweater is perfect for the cold movie theater (but it is still inviting enough for your crush/bf/husband so he can hug you during the whole movie). I don't necessarily love extremely corny looks, but a touch of burgundy is great for this special day- I added this gorgeous fringe bag from Tous. Finally to continue the "Valentine's" theme, I added two little bracelets from Tous that say "love" (which are a great gift!! leave a tab open on your phone or computer so he knows you want it wink wink) . I love dark lipsticks; but for this day, make sure the lipstick doesn't stain…you definitely want to be 100% kiss friendly!

¡El dÃa de San ValentÃn se acerca!!
Me han pedido que les muestre looks para San ValentÃn…pero es que todo depende de lo que tengan planeado. Aunque yo usé este look en un domingo familiar, este look me parece perfecto para ir al cine. Estos jeans son los jeans más cómodos que tengo (perfectos para estar sentada un rato en el cine); el suéter te protege del frÃo de lo helado que son los cines…pero no lo suficiente como para que tu chico no te abrase durante la pelÃcula! Para darle un toque romántico, agregué esta cartera de TOUS color vino y unas pulseritas que dicen "love" (también de Tous- y me parecen un regalo lindÃsimo que pueden dar a sus amigas y seres queridos). A mi me encantan las pinturas de labios oscuras, pero para este dÃa especial es mejor un color natural o un labial que no manche. ¿Que planes tienen para El DÃa de los Enamorados?¡Les mando un abrazote!!

I can't believe it's already February...the month of love! <3 (haha very cheesy). Personally, I'm a little grinch when it comes to Valentine's day. I feel like the date was invented to sell chocolate and flowers. Every day should be Valentine's day, every day we should express how we feel towards our loved ones. But you know what IS fun? Buying chocolate, flowers, and all the pinky stuff on February 15th...the prices are so low! However..here I am, wearing a typical cheesy look for Valentine's This sweater from CHUU has a similar heart print to Burberry's. Are you planning something for V-day? Let me know your plans!! XOXO

¡Ya estamos en febrero... el mes del amor (jaja super cursi)! Personalmente soy medio grinch contra el DÃa de San ValentÃn por el hecho de que creo que es una fecha muy comercial, inventada para vender chocolates y flores. Yo considero que debemos tener esos detalles con nuestros seres queridos SIEMPRE, la sociedad no tiene que decirnos cuando. ¿Saben que les recomiendo? Ir a comprar chocolates, peluches, flores, o cosas de corazones el 15 de febrero...todo está a menos de la mitad del precio original. Pero bueno, a pesar de todo aquà estoy... con un suéter de corazones de CHUU muy a la' Burberry lista para celebrar el DÃa de los enamorados tanto hoy como siempre (más cursi todavÃa jajaaj). ¿Y ustedes celebran esta fecha? ¿Tienen planes? As I mentioned on the previous post, for us.. Valentine's day is every day (as cheesy as it might sound!). This year, Gaby had an important test the day before Valentine's and he spent it studying. Reason why as soon as he finished the test- which he passed, I'm so proud- he called me and told me to get ready because he wanted to go out and celebrate. So it was like a double celebration, and it's the best day to get candy, chocolate and teddy bears (everything is on sale!). We decided to take some pics together- we put a setting that takes 10 pics at a time, and I loved all of time! I hope you enjoy them too! XOXO

Como les dije en el outfit pasado, considero que el dÃa de San ValentÃn es todos los dÃas. Este año Gaby tenÃa un examen súper importante ayer (15 de Febrero), y me llamó emocionadÃsimo en la tarde para decirme que lo habÃa pasado. Me vestà y decidimos salir a celebrarlo yendo a comer- fue como nuestra celebración de San ValentÃn un dÃa atrasado- lo mejor es que todo está rebajado, es el mejor momento para comprar caramelos, chocolates, y peluches! Aprovechamos para tomar unas fotitos juntos, pusimos el "timer" para que tomara 10 fotos a la vez.. y todas salieron comiquÃsimas. Espero que les gusten! Un abrazo grandÃsimo a todas!
