Last Sunday we went to a friend's wedding in Ft. Lauderdale (yes, Sunday because it was Memorial Day this weekend). Lately I feel old...everyone is either getting married or having babies! The wedding was at a gorgeous hotel- and even though they had to improvised because of a storm (unpredictable Miami weather)...everything was absolutely breathtaking. The party was on the last floor of the hotel, with a beautiful view of the city and a spinning floor (so you can actually see the view 360!) However, the best part was seeing our friends so happy and enjoying on their day (you'll see below pics- Gabo keeps getting better and better... if you ever need a photographer, let me know!) About my outfit: I thought it was a black-tie thing with long dresses and everything- so I had two options: a boring black dress or a royal blue one (which I thankfully didn't wear because it look just like the bridesmaids' dresses). I ended up wearing this unique neon dress that 2020Ave lent me for a professional photo shoot (but I fell in love with it and ended offering to pay for it just to wear it that day; can you believe it's just $35!). El domingo pasado fuimos al matrimonio de unos amigos (domingo porque el lunes era feriado en USA)- últimamente me siento vieja, todo el mundo se está casando o teniendo bebes! La boda fue a una hora de Miami en un hotel espectacular; aunque 5 minutos antes de la ceremonia llegó una tormenta, todo quedó hermosÃsimo. Luego la fiesta fue en el último piso de un hotel, con una vista espectacular a toda la ciudad (y aparte el piso daba vueltas para que lo vieras 360 grados). Pero lo más lindo de todo fue ver a nuestros amigos súper felices y disfrutando- Gabo tomó unas fotos lindÃsimas en blanco y negro que espero que les gusten! Sobre mi outfit: al principio pensaba que era en traje largo, pero no... era mucho más casual de lo que pensaba. Mis opciones eran un vestidito negro o uno azul- que menos mal que no me puse porque era idéntico al del cortejo). Escogà este neón que 2020Ave me habÃa prestado solo para la sesión de fotos profesional que les he contado (pero ya que me pasé de abusadora, lo terminé comprando; solo cuesta $35!). Me fascinó el color y me pareció una opción distinta a lo que todo el mundo opta para una boda. ¡Gracias por visitar el blog! ¡Abrazos!
This week's challenge was wearing: the classic BLACK AND WHITE- but even though this combo is timeless and never goes out of style, it dominated the runways this Spring/Summer 2012. I actually was going to wear this outfit at the McDonalds/Hispanicize party, but I ended up borrowing some of Flor de Maria's clothes. This time, I just added a pop of color with the lipstick to make it as B&W as possible- to balance out the classic color combo, I wore some trendy pieces (like the peter-pan collar blouse, and the pleather pleated skirt). This weekend, Gabo (aka the photographer + boyfriend) is in Puerto Rico visiting his family- so this is what I wore the night before he left, we went out to have dinner! El reto de la semana era usar un outfit blanco-y-negro; una combinación de colores que no solo es clásica y que nunca pasa de moda, sino que también dominó las pasarelas de esta temporada. Este outfit lo tenÃa pensado desde hace un tiempo pero con tacones rojos (y lo iba a usar en la fiesta de McDonalds & Hispanicize, pero terminé robándole una camisa a Flor de Maria); en esta ocasión, aprovechando la temática B&W... solo agregué color en la pintura de labios- también quise mantenerlo en tendencia al usar una camisa cuello peter-pan y la falda de pliegues de "cuero". Este fin de semana Gabo (novio y fotógrafo), se fue a Puerto Rico a visitar a su familia; esto fue lo que utilicé para ir a comer con el la noche antes. Espero que les haya gustado!
