When I moved to Miami, my older brother’s piece of advice was “travel as much as you can…there’s a lot to see in the U.S”. As a naive 17 year old girl, I completely ignore his wise advice..until recently. This year was different….after graduating from grad school, I finally had the freedom to travel more ( a lot of it was for work…or a mix of work and pleasure, I mean…I am very lucky I can be anywhere to work, I just need wi-fi and my computer).
This year, for our 1st Anniversary, my husband and I decided to escape the humid and hot Miami weather and drive up north (those 7 hours to get our of Florida are eternal!). We stayed in a small town called Rabun Gap (in Georgia, but I’m pretty sure that if we walked two blocks north, we would be in North Carolina). There was so much to see and do; a lot of national parks and natural attractions.
As a Florida girl, I loved seeing the different color leaves…the rivers and waterfalls, the mountains…so pretty! Hope you liked the pics! XOXO

Cuando me mudé a Miami, mi hermano mayor me aconsejó "viaja lo más que puedas...hay mucho que ver en Estados Unidos". Tengo que admitir que a mis 17 años, ignoré un poco su consejo...hasta hace poco. Este año ha sido diferente...después de terminar mis estudios totalmente, ya tenemos más libertad de viajar. Y aunque este año muchos de los viajes fueron por trabajo, me siento muy afortunada de poder trabajar desde donde sea- solo necesito internet y mi compu.
Este año, por nuestro primer aniversario, mi esposo y yo decidimos ir manejando a Georgia- en parte querÃamos huir un poco de la humedad y el calor de Miami. Lo más cansan fueron esas 7 horas para salir de Florida. Nos quedamos en un publito muy pequeño llamado Rabun Gap (que queda casi en la frontera de Carolina del Norte). HabÃa mucho que ver, muchos parques nacionales y paisajes espectaculares.
Nuestra primera para en Rabun Gap fue un parque llamado "Talulah Gorge". Y aunque llevé muchas opciones de looks (aprovechando tener la maleta del carro y no preocuparse del sobre peso), opté por unos jeans vino, un suéter cómodo y un toque de estampado con esta bufanda de leopardo. Finalmente agregué mis botitas SOREL y estaba lista para explorar. Admito que soy un poco torpe pero estas botas son la mezcla perfecta entre fashion y a la intemperie (la suela es de goma asà que no me resbalé ni una vez!!).
Me encantó poder ver los diferentes colores en las hojas, los riachuelos, las cascadas...todo demasiado bello. Espero que disfruten las fotos! BESOS!
Whoop Whoop!This year for New York Fashion Week, I had the amazing opportunity to partner again with TRESemmé, the official haircare sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! I’ve been getting my hair fabulously done every day at their salon in the Lincoln Center tents. If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably already seen a couple of the hairdo’s. We also went to several shows and their respective backstage…it has been so much fun!
¡Que emoción! Este año tuve la increÃble oportunidad de trabajar con TRESemmé otra vez, ellos son los patrocinadores oficiales de Mercedes-Benz Fashion en el departamento de cabello. Todos los dÃas me han estado peinando en un salón que tienen en Lincoln Center (donde son los desfiles). Si me sigues con Instagram (@nanysklozet o en SnapChat @danidaniramirez) probablemente has visto uno que otro de los peinados que hemos hecho. Ha sido divertÃdisimo…también hemos ido a varios shows y detrás de bastidores.
On Thursday we went backstage for the Marissa Webb fashion show at Milk Studios. It was great seeing TRESemmé’s stylists Jeanie Syfu and Tyler Laswell achieve the perfect hairstyle All of the models had clip-in bangs added to their sleek textured hair. To get the texture, the stylists used TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray.
I was so inspired by the look backstage at Marissa Webb that TRESemmé stylist, Marco Peña, and I ended up recreating a step-by-step that you can see on TRESemmé’s Facebook page, I will share it too, so stay tuned. We used the same TRESemmé products that were used on the runway to achieve the look! Marco started with the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray and finished with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Frizz-Free Hold Hairspray to finish the look and lock out frizz. I’ve always love bangs…when I was little, I would cry my eyes out telling my mom “Why wasn’t I born with bangs?” (Yes, I thought you were BORN with bangs!). However, my hair is too curly to get them…the solution: CLIP-ONS!! They are so easy to put in, they look great, and I love the no-commitment part of them.
I absolutely loved the final result; I paired my fabulous textured hairstyle and bangs with a wide-brimmed hat. For the day I wore a camel sweater-dress, a moto jacket, thigh-high black booties, and a pop of print with a leopard scarf.

El jueves fuimos al desfile de Marissa Webb. Me encantó ver a los estilistas de TRESemmé Jeanie Syfu y Tayler Laswell peinando a las modelos. Todas tenÃan pollina/flequillo en clip y el cabello con un poco de textura (que por cierto, para lograr la textura los estilistas usaron un spray llamado "TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray", creo que es mi nuevo producto favorito).
Quedé tan encantada con el look de Marissa Webb, que Marco Peña, TRESemmé stylist, y yo terminamos recreando un paso a paso que ya pueden ver en el Facebook de TRESemmé. Pronto lo compartiré por acá, no se preocupen. Usamos los mismos productos que usaron en la pasarela. Marco primero aplicó TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray y luego TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Frizz-Free Hold Hairspray para evitar el frizz. A mi toda la vida me ha encantado como se ven las mujeres con flequillo. Cuando era pequeña, lloraba como loca diciéndole a mi mama que porque yo no habÃa nacido con pollina (si, aparentemente yo pensaba que mis amiguitas habÃan nacido con mechones más cortos alrededor de la frente). El problema es que mi cabello es muy rizado y el look no me queda bien. La solución: pollina estilo extensión con clip. Son fáciles de poner, se ven muy naturales y no tienes que esperar a que te crezcan si te cansas.
Me encantó el resultado final; combiné mi peinado y pollina con un sombrero de ala ancha. Ese dÃa utilicé un suéter-vestido, una chaquetica de cuero, botas altas, y un toque de estampado con la bufanda de leopardo.

My family is from a small city in Venezuela called Mérida; which is located in the beginning of the Andes Mountains. To get to the city, which is 10 hours away from Caracas, you have to go up and down a huge mountain. I'm used to this long trip, I've been going there since I was a newborn and I can sleep the whole way without any problem. However, this time we were with Gabe and we wanted to show him as much as possible. He has been to Venezuela a couple of times and he has been to Merida before but we flew instead in 2007. We stopped a couple of times, including my favorite stop: The Mucubajà Lagoon (which means "Place with Big Water" in the local indigenous language). The weaner was perfect for a jacket and a scarf..and the backdrop was perfect for pics! I hope you love them as much as we do! XOXO

Mi familia es de una ciudad en Venezuela llamada Mérida- la cual queda en la Cordillera de los Andes. Para llegar a la ciudad hay que subir y bajar una montaña…el páramo es siempre mi parte favorita de ese viaje de 10 horas. Yo estoy muy acostumbrada a este viaje largo en carro; generalmente duermo todo el camino como si nada. Pero esta vez Ãbamos con Gabo; primera vez que Gabo iba a Mérida en carro (fuimos juntos en el 2007 por la Copa América pero en avión y solo por un dÃa y medio); razón por la cual hicimos varias paradas para que el conociera lo más posible.
Una de mis paradas favoritas es la Laguna de MucubajÃ- Mucubajà significa "Sitio de Agua Grande" en el dialecto indigena del area. Aprovechamos el clima y lo lindo de lugar para tomar un par de fotos.

After relaxing a little bit the first day in Madrid- for the second day we headed to two small cities around Madrid: Segovia and Avila (well, we stopped at "El Escorial" but it was closed since it was Monday). When we arrived to "Avila", it was colder than we expected. Thankfully, I brought an extra leather jacket to layer underneath the vest and some tights (check out the pics below for my mini transformation in Avila). We walked a lot around the city. Later, we drove to Segovia- where we ate "cochinillo" (a type of pork that everyone recommended)...and it was hot again there! I hope you like the pictures and I hope you have an amazing weekend! Después de descansar un poco el primer dÃa en Madrid; el segundo dÃa nos aventuramos a dos ciudades en los alrededor de Madrid: Segovia y Avila (y bueno una parada rápida en "El Escorial"- pero estaba cerrada por ser Lunes). En Avila hacÃa bastante frÃo; asà que tuve que agregar una chaqueta de cuero debajo del chaleco y unas medias negras (abajo voy a dejarles una fotito para que vean mi pequeña transformación improvisada). Estabamos un poco tristes porque tampoco pudimos entrar a la muralla ya que era Lunes...y todo cerrado. Después nos fuimos a pasear por Segovia y a comer cochinillo- una parada que todo el mundo nos recomendó. Les deseo un bonito fin de semana! Un abrazo inmensÃsimo!!
As I mentioned on the previous post- I arrived in Vienna yesterday. We got here by train in the afternoon and headed to have a traditional austrian mean- which was delicious by the way. We were very lucky today, it was sunny and gorgeous outfit. I didn't plan this outfit at all- I was in a hurry and threw the first things I saw (I spent way too much time styling my hair in the morning). Today we took one of those "city tour" buses and then we walked around the whole day- such a beautiful city! I added a lot of pics too, I hope you like them! XOXO

Como les dije en el post anterior, ESTOY EN VIENNA- llegamos ayer en la tardecita y fuimos a comer a un restaurante tÃpico austriaco. Hoy nos hizo un sol espectacular y el clime estuve mejor de lo que esperabamos- hoy no planifiqué para nada el outfit, me puse lo primero que vi que me abrigara lo más posible. Primero agarramos uno de esos autobuses que te pasean por la ciudad para dar "una vuelta de reconocimiento" y luego estuvimos caminando TODO el dÃa- añadà bastantes fotitos del lugar, mañana tomo más! Un abrazo GRANDISIMO!

This weekend I had the opportunity to go San Francisco thanks to Nike- it was an amazing weekend and this is just one of the posts I', planning to do about the trip. So, I'll start with Friday- my flight was very early but it arrived at noon to San Francisco so I had time to rest, walk around and spend time with the other bloggers. Later that day, I met Flor from Flor de Maria Fashion- she's like my big sister, I adore her; I feel like I've known her for years. We decided to go to Zara and then we headed to a Nike event called "Run the runway". This event was hosted by Cat Sadler from E, and 50 girls "run" the runway showing the new Nike collection- and at the end, a group of judges chose the most stylish. I loved the whole collection and it made me think that I shouldn't get just black workout clothes- you can be stylish at the gym too!
