Velvet Boots and Maxi Dress

Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Aren't these burgundy velvet boots what fall dreams are made of? 🍁😻

This look was part of an Instagram partnership I did with Ebay (so YES, the full look is from it). The boots are originally from Zara- not sure which season, but they were brand-new for a fraction of the price! The dress is Free People, I love the print and how flowy it is. It was perfect to hide the first trimester bloating and I know it will be roomy enough for the upcoming months!

I've been wearing the hat non-stop. I also got it in black- so perfect for any look! Definitely one of my favorite purchases this season- and so Miami "fall".

Hope you are having a little break this Holiday! Love you guys!

5 Ways to Spring Cleaning Goals…with eBay

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

This blog post was written as part of my collaboration with eBay Thanks for supporting the brands that keep Nany’s Klozet going.

There’s something about Spring and its warmer air that inspires us to start over- this blooming season leads us to makeovers of all kinds. Some people start renovation major projects in the backyard, and some people clean out their closet (especially to make space for fresher  and newer things to come along, raise your hand shopaholics!). This is why I’m super excited to partner with eBay during its Spring Sale because you can find absolutely anything you need; from vacuum cleaners to home organization products, and everything in between.  The eBay gift card is the perfect gift for absolutely anyone…especially those who are hard-to-shop-for people!

Four years ago, I moved to a  1 bedroom 1 tiny closet apartment in Miami with my then-fiance-now-husband. I’m  not going to lie: as the little girl of the house, I was also used to having my own closet and space…then add up the “fashion blogger” factor. Over the years, I’ve learned some tips to maximize space, keep everything organized and achieve all your Spring Cleaning Goals.

1. Keep, Fix, Donate, Throw Away, and Sell.

Start by going through EVERYTHING in your closet and get ready to have 5 piles: (1) Keep (2) Fix  (3) Donate (4) Throw Away and (5) Sell.

Ask yourself the following questions:
Have I worn it in the past year? Why haven’t I worn it? Is it damaged? Is it fixable? Does it still fit? Is it still on-trend?
If the items are in good condition but have no significant value, donate them. If you think you can get a little money, sell them! Forget about sentimental value; it doesn’t make sense to keep the dress you wore to prom 10 years ago. Remember keeping an item isn’t what keeps the memory alive.

2. Upgrade your closet with ultra thing anti-slip velvet hangers
I’ve been slowly transitioning to velvet hangers for many reasons. First of all, it gives a luxurious feel to your closet. Second, the ultra thin shape will let you put more items. FInally, the velvet helps clothes to not slip.   During the eBay sale I got 50 hangers for under $20!! At this price, I might get a few more.

Also, try this fun trick to know if you have worn something in the past year. Put your hangers backwards every time you do a clean-out; when you wear it, put it back as it should be hung normally. At the end of the year you can clearly see what you haven't worn in a while.

3. Makeup needs Spring Cleaning too:
We tend to forget that make-up has an inspiration date…and sometimes it’s expires faster than we expect! For example: eyeliner lasts from 6 months to a year, while mascara lasts 3-6 months. On the other hand: lipstick, powder cosmetics (blush, eyeshadow, setting powder) can last up to two years. Also consider that all natural makeup expires faster.

If you are not sure how old a product is, smell it trust your senses. Wearing makeup that’s expired can cause breakouts and allergies.

Try keeping what you really love and use frequently. Clean it and get ready to store it!

4. Display and Keep Your Makeup Organized
After cleaning up your makeup bag, think about what you wear on a regular basis, what you wear on special occasions…and now it’s time to keep it organized! I absolutely love clear displays on my vanity.

For my brushes, mascara, and liners, I got this Curved Acryling Organizer (for only $12!). You all know I’m a lipstick lover, so I got this 24 Lipstick Makeup Holder! I’ll make sure to keep my favorite shades at reach- that way I don’t forget them and continue wearing them. Finally, I keep everything by type in the Storage Clear Case. On the top shelf, I like putting my every day products; while on the little drawers I put special occasion products.

5. Keep your season-clothes at reach
People ask me frequently how I keep organized my clothes when it comes to shooting. When get a new item or something  I want to shoot, I don’t instantly put it in the closet (because it gets lost…I’m sure sometimes you find clothes with new tags hidden in the back of your closet). That’s why I like using a clothing rack. There I keep seasonal items, new items, and I organize the looks for the blog. PLUS it gives me extra storage.

My clothing rack recently broke after many years, so I decided to upgrade and I got a Collapsible Rack Hanger at ebay. The quality is amazing and I found it for $40, half the price I saw it in local stores!

5 Fashion Blogger Essentials…with Ebay

Saturday, June 20, 2015

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of eBay for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Fashion bloggers have revolutionized the fashion industry A fashion blog is more than a website where we share fashion advice or personal style. If there is one questions I get often, it would definitely be: "how do I become one?". My answer has always been to not become a fashion blogger but use your fashion blogger to become what you want to be. It is a great experience that helps you build your portfolio, get your name out there, meet people in the industry, and more.

So when Ebay reached out to do a "fashion deal guide", I instantly wanted to tap into Fashion Blogging essentials…because to be an influencer, you don't have to break the bank.

_____

1. A camera
Whether it's a professional DSLR or a point and shoot, a fashion blogger needs a camera to capture her daily outfits and fashion adventures. You don't need the most expensive camera out there; you just need to learn about its settings and you are ready to go! I started with a point and shoot, then I got a better cameraand a few years later even a better one. But again, the most important thing is knowing how to use it appropriately. There are thousands of Youtube tutorials where you can learn about IOS, exposure, editing, and more.

Recommendations:
-Look for cameras with Wifi or memory cards with it- that way you can snap and share instantly without lowering the quality of your photos in your social media.
- For a blurred background at an incredible price, I recommend the 50mm lens.
Some amazing deals HERE.
_____

2. A smartphone
Blogging used to be about getting on your laptop and sharing your passion with the world (hey, I'm still #TeamBlogger and refuse to start using Wordpress). This has definitely changed with social media in the past couple of years…and you will need a smartphone to update your Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat- well, and all the social networks that keep popping up!
Ps: don't forget to accessorize with a cute case since it will appear in your mirror selfies!!

______
3. Classic/Seasonless handbags
An outfit is not complete without a handbag. I used to be a "shoe-type of girl" but I realized I love bags even more. I refuse to spend tons of money on something I'm going to step on.bags are another story/ Invest in classic handbags that will last season after season.
Color recommendations: black, nude, grey and camel.
Look for an elegant clutch for fabulous parties, a roomy tote for work with enough space to fit your computer or tablet , and a cross body one for the weekends.

Cute options: eBay Deals

4.Timeless watch
Nowadays watches have become and understated accessory but they can elevate the vibe of a look instantly. There is a model for everyone, you can never go wrong with a timeless gold watch…but also there are sporty options for your workout gear or colorful ones to match with your fashionable outfits.

5. All in the accessories

The best way to update your basics is by accessorizing. You can wear the same black jeans and white top a hundred times and nobody will notice if you play with accessories.
Recommendations:
- "Diamond" studs or pearls for every day looks.
- A statement necklace to glam up simple pieces.
- Statement earrings for dresses or tops with an interesting neckline or back detail.
- Gold bangles and tons of rings for fun casual looks.

5. Accesorios.

Thanksgiving: HAPPY ELFIN' HOLIDAY

Monday, December 2, 2013

TARGET ugly sweater
FUROR MODA white skirt
SHOEDAZZLE black booties
H&M necklace
TARGET bag
FOREVER 21 hat
Bracelets: BCBG, Cartier, Jeweliq & Michael Kors

A couple of weeks ago, I finally found a ticket to go to Venezuela for the wedding of one of my closest friends. The tickets are so expensive that I decided to stay the whole month of December. Reason why Thanksgiving ended up being extra special. It started early at midnight when a group of friends came to my house for an "ugly/Christmas sweater" christmas. We had so much fun until the sun came out. After that I headed to a Thanksgiving lunch with Gabo's family; I have mentioned before how delicious it is! After recovering from the food coma, I headed to an event for Abercrombie that I was hosting for Black friday.

2013 has been a crazy year...full of emotions, big decisions, bigger opportunities, and even bigger happiness.  I feel extremely thankful and blessed!

I found this sweater at Target's men section... and I had to have it! Even the whole "ugly sweater party" theme was an excuse to wear it. Gabo also found one with skulls wearing Christmas hats! Here's the link with all the sweaters; there's also one with a nutcracker that says "let's get cracking". Even though it's a men's sweater, you can add super feminine pieces to make it girly!

How was your Thanksgiving weekend!!?

_______

Me siento extremadamente agradecida y afortunada.

White dress...blue wall....

Sunday, August 4, 2013

I've been wanting to wear this white dress from 2020ave for a while but I didn't know what type of bra to wear underneath (it's very sheer and backless- I ended up wearing a cool black lace bralette and I got so many compliments on it). This dress is very feminine so I wanted to edge it up with some combat boots and my favorite hat. The boots are from Pink & Pepper, and they are currently my favorite pair...they go with everything. I also keep wearing and wearing this hat...when you get used to wearing hats, the looks look empty without them. I wore this outfit to go to an Arm&Hammer event with Carmen from Viva Fashion- they treated us with manis/pedis and we learned about the various uses of baking soda. Head over to Viva Fashion to see picks of the event. Hope you like the pics! XOXO

___________

BLOGGER SWAP: with Ashes into Fashion

Friday, August 2, 2013

Last month I started a little segment called "Blogger Swap"- my goal was 1. to introduce you to new bloggers and 2. show that being inspired by other bloggers is more than okay...we all do it!

Today's swap is with Ashley from  Ashes into Fashion- who has an amazing style and the biggest heart!. This swap was extreemely hard because I wanted to do MANY of her outfits. I ended up doing this one with a geometric neon skirt (hers is green, mine pink as you can see), a black blazer, white top, white shoes, and boxy sunglasses. Remember that being inspired is not about copying the look 100%, it's about taking ideas and adapting them to your style and what you own. Check out which of my look Ashley chose HERE.

A lot of sweet girls have emailed me to be part of this section- sadly since it's just a bimonthly section, I'm full for the next two months. So if you were inspired by me in a look, which is an honor, send me the look and I'll share it here with a link to your blog!

Have an amazing weekend! XOXO

__________

¡¡Abrazos grandísimos y FELIZ FIN DE SEMANA!!
