This time we challenge you to... WEAR BAROQUE- trend seen in runways like Dolce&Gabbana, Lanvin and Balmain. This trend, based on the artistic style that started in 1600, is full of metallic colors and embellished fabrics- there's also a  lot of velvet. The color palette is very dark; black, burgundy, forest green, navy blue..and of course, GOLD!

¿Qué es " Te reto a...." ?"Te reto a..." es una sección especial en la cual nosotras ( Flor de Maria Fashion, Ashley y yo) retamos a todas las bloggers y lectoras a usar ciertas tendencias/ temas- y nos encantaría que nos acompañaran. Esta vez te retamos a usar la tendencia barroca - vista en pasarelas como Dolce&Gabbana, Lanvin, Balmain y muchos más. Esta tendencia basada en el período artístico con el mismo nombre, esta llena de colores metálicos y telas con muchos detalles y embellecimientos- también vemos telas como el terciopelo. La paleta de colores es oscura: negro, vino, verde oscuro, azul oscuro.. y por supuesto mucho dorado.

I actually wore this last week just before choosing that the challenge was going to be related to the cartoon-ish shirt- so I decided to save it.... which was hard, I couldn't take pictures this week because of  a storm in Miami, school, and my birthday. I wore this last Sunday to have lunch with my mom and a cousin, both visiting from Venezuela. I wanted to pair de "ka-pow" shirt with simple rocker pieces like leather shorts and fun combat boots. Esto lo usé la semana pasada justo antes de escoger que el reto fuera usar algo tipo cartoon- y no podía esperar para mostrarles el look....me cuesta muchísimo guardar los outfits (y aparte entre las clases, la tormenta, y mi cumpleaños no había podido tomar fotos). Me pusé esto el domingo pasado para ir a comer con mi mamá y una prima, ambas de visita en Miami. Combiné la camisa de "ka-pow" con piezas sencillas pero roqueritas como los shorts de cuero y las botas tipo combate. The past few days in Miami have being very windy... and even though for the rest of the world, this is still crazy summer, everyone feels like fall is slowly approaching. So here's what I wore for this week's challenge: Wear leather, I actually wore it a couple of time the past few days and you'll see another version on Tuesday. I wanted to wear this leather jacket with these fun snakeskin print jeans and a simple white tee. I added gold fun accessories to end the look. Since I was going for the rocker look with the straighter hair and everything, I wanted to wear a deep purple lipstick but mine weren't dark enough- so I added a little bit of black eyeliner! It was a laid-back day, we walked around the park and then we got some smoothies! Remember, if you wore leather this week...link it up at the end of this post! XOXO

Los últimos días en Miami han estado bastante frescos... y aunque para el resto del mundo seguimos en temperaturas veraniegas, todo el mundo ha estado vistiéndose más otoñal. Así que aproveché para hacer el reto de la semana: usar cuero varias veces- originalmente mi outfit del reto lo verán esta semana  y luego les explicaré porque lo tuve que postponer. Ok, volviendo a este look:  quise usar mis pantalones con estampado de culebra con la chaqueta de cuero y una camisa básica blanca. Como era un look más rocker, quería usar una pintura de labios oscura, de un color parecido al de los pantalones...pero ningún color quedaba oscuro así que lo mezclé con un poquitico de delineador negro. Fue un día tranquilo, fuimos a pasear por el parque en frente de mi casa y a tomar merengadas. This time we challenge you...leather (better yet if it's faux leather). This season there are so many fun leather pieces- from the classic motto jacket to a fun peplum leather dress! I'm sure that there's something leather in your closet (or maybe in your mom's closet, one of my favorite skirts is a leather one that it was my mom during the 80's...I shortened it!).
