Oh Chicago! Chicago!
It wasn't the first time I've been in Chicago. I went twice in 2011- one for a marathon with Nike and then for a hispanic conference called Latism. Check out those posts, I look like a baby (and let's not even talk about what I was wearing). However, this time I went with Gabe and we love exploring the city.
We really loved it, it looked so beautiful with snow everywhere...and the lake was frozen!
We got there on Monday, we checked in, showered, and headed straight to have lunch. A couple of people recommended Giordanos where they are known for their Chicago-style pizzas. Honestly it was a good and bad decision. It was delicious but it was so big!! We didn't expect it! After that we headed to the Skydeck to see the city from the #103. I was going to add those pics on this post but they need their own posts (so stay tuned for that tomorrow).
About what I'm wearing, I realized I don't really own a lot of winter clothes (hey, I live in Miami, why would I). Everything I took to this 4 day trip was the same I wore in NYFW last year. The coat is from Desigual but it is obviously sold out (I linked to similar options below). I also realized that even though I love small bags, they are not for the winter. So this Coach swagger bag was perfect for this trip, that way I can add the gloves and everything inside (tell me I'm not the only one who does this!).
Have amazing weekend!

¡Chicago! ¡Chicago!!

At first, I wasn't sure about coming to New York Fashion Week …mainly because of the weather. This Caribbean girl is not used to freezing temperatures. However, I got the fun opportunity to work with Sperry and Chictopia during this fashionable week. They invited me to attend Rubin and Chapel's show at the Standard Hotel….the view was breathtaking (plus the models were against the view…creating the perfect backdrop). The place was packing with photographers and celebrities (even the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Morgan Steward, was one of the models). When the models were getting ready, they were hanging out in Sperry shoes- I joined them by wearing a the gold metallic pair, it has a modern twist on the classic boat shoe. It was also so much fun seen Sperry shoes on the runway; they really gave the looks some everyday comfort and versatility.
As far as the outfit for the show, I wore my new favorite black ankle booties from Sperry you girls are going to see them so often on the blog. They have a quilted and suede detail on the back of the shoe and they are leather on the front …PLUS they are extremely comfy! I was dying to wear this plaid coat so I just paired it with some gray jea
ns and a black scarf!
Hope you like the pictures below! Check out more on #SperryNYFW!

As you can see, I'm really enjoying the "chilly" wave in Miami, I'm taking out sweaters (and well, scarves because at school is even more cold than outside). Yes, grad-school... I wrote about about it when I started but I think many of you missed it. I'm doing a masters degree in Design & Media management. To go to school, I paired my polka dot pants with a comfy sweater and lots of black complements (and my nerdy glasses, of course). As you can see, I have been wearing this bag in every single post- but it's just the perfect size and color for everyday use. And well, ignore the usage of hats...I have already expressed my obsession with them. Here you can kind of see the first stage of my mini makeover. However, I went that day to fix it because some highlights were way to light...now it looks very natural :) Also, I realized something was wrong with yesterday's post and nobody could comment on it until today. So here I ask again: if I start doing youtube videos, what would you like to see? The more suggestions, the better. Have a great day! XOXO

BESOS!

We are still enjoying gorgeous weather in Miami...but here are four ways I have worn a black scarf (all in NYC).
Which look is your favorite?

I realized that all my Sunday outfits are very comfy and simple- for me Sundays are the perfect days to spend the whole day in your PJs. However, I force myself to dress up and do something- I really like that this outfit is so simple but the accessories (like the scarf and the bag) really make it more "dressy". Talking about accessories- I really wanted to make a quick parenthesis and talk about "my bags" (and specifically about this one since it's one of those "Celine for less"). A couple of months ago a website talked about me and about how they loved my looks but hated how I wore "cheap knock-offs" bags and that she would prefer going to Aldo to get bags. That day I went to the mall, and I headed to Aldo- I swear that all the bags I saw here "cheap knock offs" too- meaning that all the bags were inspired by designers bags ( I saw Chanel-ish quilted bags, Birkin-ish bags, and every it bag). I'm not saying there something wrong with that, even designers get inspired by other designers (Is it me or the Michael Kors Hamilton is very reminiscent of the Hermes Birkin). I personally do not wear something because it's THIS or THAT brand- if I like something I don't care if I got it at a thrift store or at a specialty store. On the other hand, I love finding "looks for less" because I know that the 90% of the women can afford a $2,000 bag (including me!)- and you can look like a million dollars without having to spend them!. I know that many of you might not agree with me... and that's okay, I don't know what to start any controversies . Back to my outfit, I wore this to have lunch with my boyfriend before having to go home and PACK! Like I told you before, my brother is getting married this weekend and I had to travel. Tomorrow I'll share my first outfit at the first destination! Hope you like it! XOXO

XOXO
Sincerely, I'm not a Kardashian freak- I do watch the show because I like Kourtney and Scott. However, I think Monica Rose sometimes does an amazing job with Kim's outfits. I saved this outfit in my computer months ago since I had similar pieces to recreate it; but at that time, Miami was extremely HOT. Yesterday I was going through my files and I decided to wear it (oh and the weather was perfect outside for this!). I added all the prices so you can compare the items- Kim's complete look costs around $7,400, while mine is not over $300. I wasn't sure about how much my jacket and my boots cost because both were gifts (my dad got me the jacket for my birthday and Flor de Maria Fashion gifted the booties to me when she stayed with me in Miami)- I went through the brands website and pulled out the price of similar items. This is what I wore to a small get together at a friend's house. HAVE A GREAT WEEK! Thank you SO much for stopping by! XOXO
