This week was Art Basel in Miami; and if I'm totally honest with you, I just avoided all the chaos related to the multiple events going on. I have never been an outgoing person; I was the weird teen that didn't like to go partying and drinking... and I still am. I don't understand the whole concept...maybe it's because I'm not drunk like everybody else. And I don't want to pretend to be someone that I am not; I rather stay home and watch movies..than going to an event for "prestige" - just to be able to say "Nany's Klozet got invited to this event". I know this might sound ungrateful because there are so many new bloggers that would love to be able to attend this events....but that's not my goal. I don't strive to be an "it girl".. I just want to show you that it's okay to have fun with clothing, that you can take full advantage of your closet, and that you should express your personality with clothing,
I'm almost on my final semester of Fashion School- so I recently started applying for internships and I got this amazing opportunity to intern for one of the best hispanic stylist. Even though I officially start on January, I was asked to do street-style during Art Basel. So this is what I wore on Sunday to take pics of people on the street... it was so much fun. This outfit is very similar to one of the Holiday outfit ideas: Bonjour- this is less elegant and more "every day". Have an amazing week!! XOXO

Esta fue la semana del arte en Miami mejor conocida como Art Basel; si soy 100% sincera con ustedes estuve evitando el caos relacionados con este evento. Toda la vida he sido una persona bastante introvertida; hasta el dÃa de hoy no le encuentro sentido a pasar horas en una discoteca con un trago en una mano con una música tan alta que no puedes hablar, y tanta gente que bailas más con el de atrás.... debe ser porque no me gusta toma. Y no pretendo cambiar quien soy- prefiero mil veces quedarme en mi casa viendo pelÃculas que ir a un evento "por status"... por decir "que Nany's Klozet fue a tal evento". Y se que puedo sonar desagradecida, se que muchas blogueras nuevas les encantarÃa tener la oportunidad de ir eventos como los que hubieron esta semana....pero mi meta no es esa. Yo no blogueo para ser una "it girl"..yo blogueo porque me gusta expresarme con la ropa..me gusta mostrarles como pueden sacarle el mayor provecho a su closet.
Este blog me ha abierto muchas puertas ... y una de ellas es una pasantÃa que voy a empezar con una estilista latina muy reconocida (ya les contaré un poquito más). Y aunque empiezo oficialmente en enero, me pidió si podÃa tomar fotos tipo "streetstyle" para ver que estaba usando la gente durante el Art Basel. Y esto fue lo que utilicé para atacar a la gente...es una versión más sencilla y relajada del look navideño Bonjour que hice hace unos dÃas. FELIZ SEMANA!!!
From December 1-4, Miami hosted the 10th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, which is the most prestigious art show in the Americas (with more than 260 leading galleries that showcase works by more than 2,000 artists of the last two centuries). After 5 years living here, I finally decided to see what all the buzz was about. First we headed to the "Miami Convention Center"- which was this HUGE gallery. We didn't even know where to start and we didn't even see 1/4 of it. It was so much fun, I took my camera with me and loved taking pictures like crazy (you can see a lot of pics below). Then, we got very hunger so we ate in Miami Beach. Later at night we headed to Wyndwood, there was music, food, fashion, more galleries, and street art. About my outfit: I know I know, another asymmetrical dress. I love this cut right now and the best part is that I can get them hem later when they go out of style. I really like this one because the print makes it more casual- as soon as I thought about tribal print, I wanted to pair the dress with the fringe bag and some huge earrings. Desde el primero al cuatro de diciembre, Miami fue el anfitrión del décimo "Art Basel"- el cual es el show de arte más prestigioso en las Américas (en el cual puedes encontrar más de 260 galerÃas que muestran el trabajo de más de 2 mil artistas de los últimos dos siglos). No tengo idea porque no habÃa ido antes, pero este año quise aventurarme a ver de que se trataba todo esto. Primero entramos al Miami Convention Center- el cual tenÃa muchÃsimas obras de arte, no sabÃamos por donde empezar y nisiquiera vimos la mitad de lo que habÃa que ver (pero tomamos muchÃsimas fotos, abajo las comparto con ustedes). Después de caminar y caminar, nos dio un hambre terrible y fuimos a comer ahà mismo en Miami Beach. Luego en la nochecita pasamos por Wyndwood- donde habÃa música, cómida, moda, y más galerÃas. Sobre mi outfit: si, se que es OTRO vestido asimétrico- pero me encantan y tengo planeado cortarlos cuando pasen de moda. Este me gusta muchÃsimo porque es mucho más casual que otros que tengo- especialmente porque no es tan largo en la parte de atrás y el estampado tribal lo hace más de dÃa. Apenas pensé en estampado tribal, quise combinarlo con esta cartera de flecos y unos zarcillos/aretes grandotes. Espero que disfruten las fotitos del Art Basel! Un abrazo!
